The present bachelor thesis comprises of two main parts - the translation from Spanish to Czech and the commentary on the translation. The source texts are selected chapters from the book 20 nuevos directores del cine español by Carlos Hereder, which are composed as biographical summaries of the directors' lives and their work. The commentary consists of the analysis of the source text, description of the selected method of translation, typology of translation problems and shifts which occurred during the translation process.
